Tenant screening is a must in today’s rental environment. As a property owner or Property Manager it is important to know the credit worthiness of the new applicant but also their character as well. Local City, County and State laws have placed limitations on the location sex offenders can live. Strict enforcement of these predators is maintained and not only can the offender be cited the property owner can be as well.
A tenant screening should be performed on all applicants who wish to move into one of your units. Not only sex offenders but violent criminal past behavior can open the doors to a lawsuit, if something should happen involving your new tenant.
